If you take a look at all of the major brands there are in the world, they are focused around one thing – solving the problems of their customers.
Verizon connects people remotely.
Chipotle feeds hungry souls. Uber makes traveling around easy.
If you’re an employee, then you also are solving problems for your employers. They need motors to be wired. They need room cleaning in their hotels after a stay from their customers (whose “where do I stay tonight” problems were solved).
If you’re in sales – you’re solving the revenue flow problem of the company you are selling for.
This is not a new concept by any means.
Blacksmiths would shoe horses.
Seamstresses, grocers, farmhands, and saddlers all solved problems.
This is the essence of commerce. You get paid based on the value proposition your skills or product brings to the table.
The payment is a worldwide, agreed upon value construct in the form of currency, which can then be used to purchase things you need in your life to solve your problems.
A pretty sweet system, indeed.
Considering this basic concept, what is it that you can help people solve?
To enjoy the fruits of your labor, you need to either solve big problems on a small scale, or small problems on a big scale.
If you haven’t figured this out yet, it may be time to pull out a pad and a pen and start jotting some things down.
Behold another day, and make the most of what you have been blessed with today.
Love ya,
JT
