I am not a fan of celebrating my birthday, but it did just happen. That clock ticked and hit midnight, and boom, I was another year older just like that.
Do you celebrate New Year’s Day? Most of the world does.
New Year’s celebrations are for the world. They are a reset for business, for commerce, for friends, for families. That specific celebration helps people to put the past behind and move on with a fresh new outlook.
What if you applied that same principle, but in a personal way to your life? Your birthday can be a great reset for you just like New Year’s is for the rest of the world.
You can look at it like this… the New Year’s holiday is for the world, and your birthday is for you.
I’m not telling you to celebrate it, although most people do celebrate their birthdays, but rather acknowledge it for what it truly is: a yearly reset and reminder that you have been blessed with another year of life.
On my birthday, I make some very deep and personal commitments to myself.
I encourage you on your birthday to take an assessment of your life. Take an inventory of your spiritual life. Take a survey of your health and body. Take a look in the mirror and appreciate the creator that made you special.
If you are reading this, and it’s your birthday… remember that you are loved, special, and can accomplish great things.
Love ya – JT
