I Wish I Would Have Known These Things 10 Years Ago…

After going through some recent trouble, heartache, and disappointments, I came to the realization that I am where I am because of my choices in life. Be it good or bad, relatively speaking, there are always things that are like thorns in my side. I could have prevented certain thorns if I would have known these things 10 years ago.

  • Money does grow on certain trees, if you aren’t finding any, you’re looking up at the wrong tree
  • It’s always better to stay silent when you don’t know something with 100% certainty
  • Keep a tight circle of friends
  • Nature heals
  • Vegetarianism / veganism can change your life (not that meat is bad, it’s just that veggies are better)
  • Don’t be afraid to change your appearance
  • Go after the dream – reality will become that dream
  • You can learn something from everyone you meet
  • Leave each place you visit brighter than when it was when you got there
  • Go outside and stargaze at least once a week
  • Don’t be so narrow-minded – this is a big world with a lot of bullsh*t – you may be an unknowing victim of bullsh*tish thinking and teaching
  • Look up
  • Keep looking up
  • Smile more
  • Time with children is incredibly priceless
  • Memories are forever
  • Make much of the life you’ve been given and don’t waste it
  • Find out your gifts and share them with the world – no matter how big or small
  • Make peace, not war
  • Make the choice to choose the right thing
  • Pay attention to your dreams at night
  • Look at the signs around you
  • Stay away from things you know are bad
  • Stop killing bugs and other creatures that aren’t going to harm you – why do you get to take the life of a ladybug when you didn’t give it the life to begin with? After all, it might think you are pretty cool.
  • Ride your bike
  • Hug your loved ones every single day
  • Seek God and His mercy – He is most merciful

That’s my list. Much love. – JT
